MONTGOMERY COUNTY MARYLAND FORESTRY BOARD
THE GREYDON TOLSON FORESTRY STEWARDSHIP AWARD
The Montgomery County Forestry Board has adopted an Award to recognize the dedication and service of a member of the Community or an organization for their support of Forestry in Montgomery County, Maryland. The Award is presented in Greydon Tolson's name to honor his lifetime of service to Forestry in Montgomery County and his lifetime of service to the Montgomery County Forestry Board.

AWARD: The Greydon Tolson Forestry Stewardship Award

ELIGIBILITY: A member of the community or organization that is or has lived, worked, or operated in Montgomery County, Maryland. Award may be presented posthumously.

CRITERIA: This Award is presented in even number years to that individual or organization that has demonstrated a great and significant commitment to advancing the science, education, technology, and/or practice of Forestry in Montgomery County, Maryland.

NOMINATION: Nominations shall be made by letter using the "Nomination Form" and sent to the Forestry Board. The Award nominations will be solicited by December 31. A notice shall be placed on the Forestry Board website and the Board shall issue a Press Release soliciting Award Nominations.

SELECTION: The Forestry Board will review all nominations and select a candidate. Members of the Forestry Board may also make nominations. The Forestry Board will vote on all nominations by secret ballot to select the recipient at the February Board meeting.

PRESENTATION: The Forestry Board shall maintain "The Greydon Tolson Forestry Stewardship Award" plaque and the recipients name shall be engraved and added to the plaque. In addition, a Plaque recognizing the recipient will also be prepared and presented to the recipient. The Award presentation will occur at the Arbor Day Celebration.
Nominations are being solicited for persons or organizations that have demonstrated a great and significant commitment to advancing the science, education, technology, and/or practice of Forestry in Montgomery County, Maryland. The nomination form is available below or by calling the DNR Forest Service Office at 301-854-6060 and leaving a message on where to email, fax or mail the Nomination Form. Nominations are accepted all year, but must be received by December 31st. The Award is presented at the Arbor Day Celebration the following April at the Agricultural History Farm Park.
